Every pattern, rechecked
This month was all about accuracy. Every pattern behind your puzzles got an overhaul, and every repertoire was checked line by line.
Sharper comments and puzzles
- From forks and pins to sacrifices and mates, every pattern behind your puzzles was checked one by one.
- Every sacrifice is now recalculated in the background with a much deeper search before it's praised or turned into a puzzle.
- New: a "Damage Control" drill and a "Defensive Tactics" theme.
Game review
- Your game review comments are a lot better now, thanks to the reworked patterns. That goes for your older games too.
- The new "Show follow-up" shows how the position plays out, and side lines get better comments.
- On desktop, hover over a piece in a comment and it lights up on the board.
Puzzles
- Cleaner puzzles: one clear solution, and they end right when the idea pays off.
- Solved it? If the move you played in the game lost something, a new button shows you why.
Every repertoire, rechecked
- Every line in all 78 repertoires got a second look. Moves only an engine would find were swapped for natural ones that hold up just as well.
- Lines that reach the same position by a different move order are now marked, and hidden unless you want them.
- Already learning one? Your copy has the new lines, and lines that didn't change keep your progress.
And a few more things
- There's a new right-click menu, and it changes depending on where you are: hints in puzzles, takebacks in games, and more.
- Plus around 45 smaller fixes, many of them from things you reported.
To everyone who was part of the closed beta: thank you very much. You tried new features first, reported the bugs you ran into, and plenty of your ideas are in the app now. Chessou is a lot better because of it.
