Five repertoires for Black

Five new repertoires for Black just landed, each with an answer to whatever White throws at you.

Five complete repertoires for Black

  • Every book pairs two openings that fit together:
    • Hypermodern: Pirc and King's Indian
    • Aggressive: Sicilian Accelerated Dragon and Grünfeld
    • Solid: Caro-Kann and Slav
    • Classical: 1...e5 and Queen's Gambit Declined
    • Asymmetrical: French and Dutch
  • Each one comes in three levels: Beginner (around 60 lines), Intermediate (140) and Advanced (380). Every level is built from the games players at that rating really play, so you learn the lines you'll actually face.
  • All in all, there are now 26 opening courses in Chessou, each in three levels, so 78 individual repertoires to pick from.

Change your repertoire lines wherever you spot them

  • Spot a line you'd rather play differently while learning, training or reviewing a game? Hit "Change line" and change it right there.
  • Your progress stays, and the line comes back soon so the new move sticks.
  • Your game review now knows your repertoire. It shows which moves came from it, and where your game leaves it, it helps you extend the line or learn it.

More in the opening section

  • The whole opening section now works on phone and iPad.
  • Learning and training are now in one place, "Learn & Train". Once you've learned a line, it moves into your training by itself.
  • In "Play Your Repertoire", the bot now only plays the lines you're already training.

A new XP ladder

  • The levels have been recalibrated. Your XP stays the same, but you'll probably land on a lower level.
  • It's the groundwork for a new leveling system later this year, with a lot more titles to earn.

Plus around 50 smaller changes and fixes. Home and Practice are next, both getting a full rework.
