Puzzles that talk to you

Puzzles talk to you now, your streaks are better protected, and the app got a good deal faster.

Puzzles tell you what's going on

  • Puzzles now come with commentary all the way through, wrong moves and the analysis afterwards included.
  • Get it wrong, then find it anyway? That's worth proper XP now, not just one point.
  • The puzzle screen has been redesigned so it's easier to focus on the move.

Your streaks are better protected

  • You now pick up Streak Shields: one after 3 days, then at 7, 30 and 100, four at most. Miss a day and a shield covers it, nothing to click.
  • Train between midnight and 2am and it still saves the day you just missed.
  • There are 18 streak levels, and the higher you climb, the more bonus XP you get for every day you keep it alive.
  • Your phone can remind you in the evening if you haven't trained yet. Entirely optional.

Your daily plan

  • Your workload now adapts on every single day you train: do more than planned and it grows, leave things sitting and it eases off.
  • Hit your plan and it stays put, so once you've found your rhythm you get to keep it.

Speed

  • Plenty of work went into speed this month.

Smaller things

  • Checkmate gets a proper moment on the board.
  • The difficulty levels in your profile shape everything you're served, drills included.
  • Around 40 smaller fixes on top.

The repertoire section is roughly half built. It won't hand you someone else's course: it reads your own games, finds where your openings run out, shows you what your opponents really play against you, and points at the moves quietly costing you points. Then you drill those lines and play them against the computer.
